How did you affect your implant?

I'm a siren, it gives me certain... abilities. Namely, I can affect technology. Like... Cyberpathy?

Normally it would be quite safe for you to do so? With technology that you're familiar with?

Yeah. There isn't a piece of technology I've ever used I couldn't. It might take me a minute, and I have to be careful with my mind being what I'm using to do it but... Yeah.

Can I ask what you can do with the technology?

Anything I want it to do.
I'm a siren, you... you probably don't know what that means.
But we're pretty damn powerful.

How do you do it? Is it silly to ask if it's like a conversation -- you tell it what you want it to do?

Sort of.
Depends on how complicated the system is? But it's sort of like.

Putting my mind inside of their mind. I replace them, for a little while. I am them. Their thoughts are my thoughts. Their limbs are my limbs.

I suppose you being them ensure that it 'listens'.
Has anything given you trouble before the implant?

Kinda. I can do it with multiple systems at once, depending - but that can overwhelm me.
And when a siren loses control... it tends to leave a body count.

Is it simply being overwhelmed that causes the loss of control?

Mostly, usually. Or if I'm doing something... new?

Last time was... well, it involved me becoming suddenly very powerful. Enough to beam myself, I guess, from a satellite to cover surveillance and weapons suits across a whole planet. After that, I got my implants to sort of make it a bit easier. Some fail-safes.

Gallipoli though, that was the first time I had to really... defend myself on purpose.
