This is Brevet General Kel Cheris. I have a request to make of those willing, and an announcement you must hear.

Foremost, I would like to form a strategic partnership with one of you who is considered among the elite of Aranean society. Due to my own peculiar position, I hope to use your status to make myself acceptably "handled" within hierarchy, thus as overlooked as possible by curious or superstitious eyes. Also, because command has suggested we work in pairs. I will repay you in the manner of your choosing, excluding sexual favors.

Less to do with our current mission, and more to do with your continued safety -- I have not had an opportunity to publicly address you on the topic of the shadow in the room. And I do not like withholding information.

Some of you may have noticed him, and some of you may have not had the time to meet with me. With me is General Shuos Jedao, who is both a brilliant tactician and a traitor to the Hexarchate that I am currently responsible for. Despite his reputation, he cannot harm any of you physically, however he is exceptionally good at... talking. And observing. He has asked that I let you know that he made himself absolutely willing to serve on this mission, as he has a background in espionage and game theory that I feel will be well-placed, if not essential. To note: I have made arrangements with Percival de Rolo ( @LORDTLDR ) for the two of us to be handled, should I be compromised and the General does become a danger to you.

I have made my location public should you wish to approach me privately for either matter, and I will answer all reasonable questions and address concerns.

I am the only one who hears him, though. Did you have questions for him, directly?

With no offense meant, if I can't hear him speak directly, I have no way of knowing what you say he 'says' is a direct response.

Otherwise you could be making up anything, and saying he spoke it.

I find no offense in your statement. But, if you think that I am the one who will toy with you, you have already mislaid your advantages. To lie about what he says might grant me some form of temporary absolution, but I would not be so disrespectful.

The issue is I don't know you, and it is difficult to trust anyone without proof. For all I know he's a glimmer, some sort of magic you create, an extension of yourself.

The difficultly is proof. I don't take faith, I take fact.

You are aware that I may not easily be able to translate what is factious in my reality to what will serve you as proof, correct? So, if there is something you will consider concrete evidence of my circumstance, name it.

Otherwise, what I am able to immediately offer is a physical meeting with myself and the general.

I'm not trying to be difficult. I do understand that things that seem fantastical can often be real. I currently have to deal with a user of such powers daily.

But I also know that such things can be used to manipulate people. Because of this,
I trust only two people in the Galaxy: neither are here.

You are asking for something I can do my best to provide. So, I will bring what materials COST has available on the history of my reality, and meet with you in the main foyer in an hour. Is this agreeable?

[Hux rarely comes unarmed to anything, even with a knife. So him stating so is an effort on his part to show he means business. And he is interested in getting his hands on that history.]
