For those of you willing to share information, I have a few questions.

Are any of you from this world? Does what we do here mean something to you?

Has anyone been with this cause long enough to see worlds other than this one?

I am led to believe there are those who recall agreeing to this. If you did, what proof compelled you?

@BASICWITCH My world. As far as I can tell, anyway. Lot of time for things to deviate.

You must be at least a little concerned that we toy with your past.

@BASICWITCH A few hundred years ago. And yeah, I'm pretty concerned.

@DIEDHARD Have you been convinced of the need for it?

@BASICWITCH Well, so far we're the ones preserving history, right?

@DIEDHARD At the moment it seems you are better equipped to verify that than I am.

@BASICWITCH This is only my second mission, but so far we've been the ones stopping the Regency from making changes.

@DIEDHARD I have had to take our leaders more or less at their word about who is doing what to this world, and without any reason to trust them. A position I dislike.

Should you begin to feel doubt about our progress here I would like to hear of it.

[ He may be no more worthy of trust, but having more than one source of information will be a welcome change. ]

@BASICWITCH Depends where we go next, I guess. If it turns out we're the ones mucking things up, you'll be the first to know.

@BASICWITCH The geography I have learned suggests it's the same world, but there are things that should exist that don't seem to. Could be many reasons for that.

I joined but I didn't believe what I was told immediately, that would be foolish. Their apparent knowledge and abilities were enough to cause concern, so I came along so I would have the opportunity to work out for myself what is and isn't true.

@MINIMALCAT Perhaps a case of histories already altered?

What will you do if you decide your goals should not align with those of our leaders?

@MINIMALCAT Perhaps, but some of the changes are very fundamental to the nature of people. What change might they make they could hide natural power from those that possess it?

I am not going to make a decision on that front until I know more and certainly won't talk about it in the space they created for us, but I am sure they and I know well enough that I would need to get creative.

@MINIMALCAT A fine question, and after what happened to the spy perhaps not one so easily dismissed.

Our hosts are fools if they expect no one to question them. While I do not plan rebellion here and now I do grow impatient for answers. I will be interested in anything revealing you learn.

@BASICWITCH There is plenty to consider. Perhaps they erase people completely, but a truly intelligent and resourceful leader might have someone go back and change that person's path in life rather than killing them and being wasteful.

[There isn't just a moral question here. Even disregarding that for a moment, some of what the Regency appears to do, is said to do, seem outright foolish in regards to efficiency and the like. At least from Yoshitsugu's perceptive.]

I know that the spy herself feared erasure. I talked to her and she knew it was coming, tried not to act afraid, but was afraid nonetheless, so at least some in the Regency are told to expect that fate upon failure.

Right now information gathering is my focus; I am content to share what I find out as we move forward.

@MINIMALCAT How fortunate that someone with your eye for detail has no desire to rise to power the same way. Perhaps they simply have such a grand number that killing their own seems trivial. It certainly seems to serve as a meaningful threat.

Whatever their motive, I will return the favor if I learn something more.

@BASICWITCH There may yet be someone like that waiting for us. An empire as vast as we are told this one is has to have multiple talents in it somewhere, alongside the enactors of what they probably call peacekeeping. The spy certainly spoke about it in that way. Pretty words for brutal methods.

@BASICWITCH It's a time that is different to mine, but the places mean something to me. I hope that what we do here means that my time stays unchanged.

@BRUNNHILDE Ah, your past as well then? What happens, I wonder, if any of us are directly affected by a change made along the way? Perhaps the spy's fate could become our own.

@BASICWITCH It could. It's as worrying as if the history changes, and we no longer exist, or things are no longer what we remember.

On the contrary, I think it would help the cause if you kept no cards up your sleeve, at least where this proof is concerned.

1a. Technically my world. Several centuries prior to my timeline, but still Earth as I would know it.
1b. I'd like for my future to remain unwrecked as possible, so yes.

2. Yes and no. A handful of us were in a timeline prior to this. My memories of it are fuzzy.

I'm guessing you aren't from Earth? Correct me if I'm wrong, however.
