>>@MINIMALCAT | @ALL.
I can see that COST has many in its ranks that have perfected the art of spying. You would make perfect ninja with your finely honed skills.
I have been gathering as much information about COST and the Regency as possible and pondering the implications of this 'time travel' but I'm not going to overshare until I am as certain as I can be about what I have learned. Right now we have little choice but to get on with the mission we have been assigned; complain all you like but that won't change. One thing I would like to echo from the commander, however, is this: do not use your real name in public. It's not a command but if you want to risk our delightful enemies finding out who you are and possibly how to get rid of you that's your decision.
They are prepared to kill their own for the sake of their war, if you could call what they did to the spy killing. You won't be spared if they think you a threat.
I have a small amount of money I have set aside for the needs of our forces but it's not going to put a nice roof over your heads so that's up to you to figure out. If you are really struggling to find enough to eat, however, I can help you. I would suggest finding work as I have but the current state of this city is making that harder by the day; the flow leads towards blood and violence. Try your best to survive and not die, though if you do? Feel free to come over and say hi. I'll be sure to do the same.

Have people actually given their real name in previous missions before?
[Quietly going to facepalm if the answer is "yes." Don't mind him, Yoshitsugu.]

[He understands. He really, really understands.]

@MINIMALCAT I see. Hopefully it won't come back to haunt us.
I can't say I'm too familiar with France itself, but it's... interesting, to be here.

I wasn't before I was brought here the previous month for a mission, but that part of France was far out in the fields. This city is unlike anything I've known before.
no subject
I'm familiar with cities- I've been around them long enough. They vary, depending on where you go.
no subject
Oh, I have seen cities, just nothing like this one. In size, style and basic layout it's new to my eyes, but I was never able to leave my country and I've learned we are very, very far to the West of my home.
[And a couple hundred years later than the time he knows, too.]

[SIEGFRIED WHY ARE YOU APOLOGIZING]
The style is different for me, also. How well have you been taking all of this?
no subject
Fine compared to many others in COST. When you have lived a life accepting what happens to you, something like this can be borne with greater ease.
[Not complete ease, of course.]

I understand. I expect things like this will also become easier over time for those unfamiliar with it.

Dude, people are gonna complain about anything they ain't used to. It's kinda like this weird fact of life. Can't stop it, y'know? But you're right. We should keep on keepin' on.
Also, I'm not gonna turn down free food.
no subject
Not many would. Have you managed to get much by yourself yet?
no subject
@MINIMALCAT This is gonna sound really stupid, but I barely know what I'm doing to begin with. I know we're supposed to be gathering info and stuff, that's easy. I've just never been a spy before.
Bread. So much bread. I kinda hate the stuff now.

[Guess who is good at the first of those?]
Or you could just focus on staying alive and waiting until there's something that suits your skill sets.
I can give you enough money to get something different; try and make it last. Interesting food will get harder and harder to come by the longer we are here.

@MINIMALCAT You got a real poetic way of talking. Anyone ever tell you that? But. Thanks, man. I get what you're saying.
FORREAL? Aw, shit, you're the best.
It's cool, I usually eat cheap back home. Ramen's my go-to. Just... some protein would be killer right about now.

No thanks are needed. I'm a strategist; keeping the 'army' in good shape is simple sense.

Not literally, of course.
