Tell me about your gods.
If you don't have that kind of faith, then tell me what else you believe in. There must be something.
And if not that, tell me what you think of when you know a battle is coming.

The Raven Queen sounds a bit like their Mother, but they think all gods are really faces of the same god.
What was the god your friend met like? Who was he?

shes kind of motherly tho now that you mention it
i didnt see him myself but his names pan and hes like a nature hippie god basically
the opposite of rq

[He doesn't address the idea of a goddess of death being motherly any further, just now: there is peace in death, he knows, just like there's peace in a dreamless sleep, but no comfort like he imagines people would find in a mother's care... if they've ever had it. And he's never believed in the Faith's Mother anyway.]

It's hard to talk about the Old Gods. They don't have names or faces or clergy, or even very many rules. Respect the Godswood and the heart tree, keep to your vows, don't lie. Don't kill the innocent, don't steal. They're part of the land itself, every tree and rock and river. But they watch from the heart trees. It's said that they know us by watching us.
Not the same as your hippie granola, but maybe a little like your Pan. I don't know how forgiving they are,
though.
