Our struggle here is drawing to a close. I presume both sides would like to avoid further loss of life. The Empire-- the Regency, as you call us-- certainly would. I myself grow weary of slaughter, especially this senseless murder of my soldiers.

This can be ended. I do not have the credentials necessary to surrender. You do. Call off this useless struggle. Your people will be returned to you.

Really? Because to me, it feels very callous. Refusing to negotiate on principle, at the risk of your comrades' lives.

We all do as best we can in times of war, and all reap regrets from it. I myself wish I had not been so polite to start with. I now think your group would have responded better to outright threats. They seem almost offended I do not employ any.
