Our struggle here is drawing to a close. I presume both sides would like to avoid further loss of life. The Empire-- the Regency, as you call us-- certainly would. I myself grow weary of slaughter, especially this senseless murder of my soldiers.

This can be ended. I do not have the credentials necessary to surrender. You do. Call off this useless struggle. Your people will be returned to you.

(turns his GPS on and he's out in the hills trying to retrace group 3's steps. felled regency soldiers remain littered there with the turkish soldiers and they can't just leave them there. this may be war and he may not care about ANZAC, turkish, or his own team's bodies, but they're precious.

hei stands at the mouth of the turkish base with his gas mask on and favours his left side, the occasional misstep in mud making him sway and stagger. but he's as ready as he'll ever be — he's had worse. he's always had worse.)

[ Where Hei is mostly concerned about appeasing the enemy that now holds leverage over them, Achilles is genuinely saddened by the unnecessary deaths that have plagued these lands.

He shows up soon after his coordinates are made public. He's making use of his precious reserves of mana to be quick, which will ultimately lead to weakening him eventually. He'll surely be in trouble if the mist comes by again without Noctis' connection to sustain him.

He approaches quietly, bowing his head out of respect for the bodies that litter the ground. ]

I'll collect their soldiers and bury the rest. [ It would be preferable to hold a funeral and burn them, but they don't have the resources or time for that right now. ]

Find somewhere to relax.

That will take too long. Just see to it the Regency soldiers are gathered.

(it'll be something to present to kebechet, anyway. doubtless, this is going to end badly for them — whether they get captured with noctis' release, captured without noctis' release, or killed on sight.

hei has to admit that achilles' offer sounds appealing. he sinks slowly, taking a seat with cross of his legs, trying to hide the breath that rattles out of him.)

[ He's right... What little energy he has left can't be spent making graves for the dead. He can only tell himself that he'll come back later to finish making the funeral arrangements. ]

Don't mention it. All I ask for in return is that you help me save Noctis. [ He can see how worn he is. He remembers Kebechet's demands and how he wanted the other warrior to be conscious and alive. ]

Sleep. I'll wake you when it's time to leave.

I was going to do that anyway. (help achilles or save noctis on his own, his meaning isn't very clear. but that's intentional.

because for once, hei refuses to butt heads with his comrade, something that may be a symptom of the exhaustion he's trying desperately to hide in a tight curl of shaking fingers into fists. or the respect achilles has earned in sharing his goal, finally taking one of his offers. leaning against a split rock that looks far too uncomfortable to rest against, hei's eyes drift shut.

rare, that sleep should come so swiftly, but it's not without fever dreams and a cold sweat matting cropped bangs to his forehead as a weakened body tries to stave off illness.)

[ Achilles isn't around to look after him, unfortunately.

What progress Hei has made cleaning up, Achilles will at least manage to finish what he started. He's quick, moving the bodies of the dead into neat rows and sorting those who belonged to the Regency onto the cart (?) Hei had brought. Each corpse is laid down with respect, with none overlapping as he begins the process of moving them to the designated spot he had agreed to meet Kebechet at.

When he's finished, he comes back to fetch Hei. Since they parted ways he had a conversation with his teacher and understands that time is now precious. To avoid interference, they're going to have to move quickly.

He doesn't rattle Hei awake. He places a hand on his shoulder, hoping that the touch will be enough to rouse him. ]
