FROM: @WEHFRIED || TO: @ALL (backdated like hell, aka before spiderland)

Before Gallipoli, it was discussed that we should come up with aliases to call each other, and have backstories to speak of while there was downtime in the war. At the time, we knew the Regency was there, but they wouldn't be so visible. It was enough to not be asked too much by the natives of the time, and allowed us the conditions we needed to blend in as a unit of reinforcements that was beached at the wrong location.

The situation may be different here, but I'd suggest we come up with different aliases from before, considering we'll be facing the Regency out in the open. Using your actual name isn't suggested- it could cause problems and endanger the rest of this cell if you do so. Try to pick something you'll remember easily enough.

Feel free to suggest names and ideas for yourselves, or help others. The BCE has a list of them you can pick from. The sooner we can compile a list, the easier it will make it for all of us to recall while in the middle of the mission.

[Boy, talking like this is a reminder of speaking with soldiers before battles. That was a long time ago, and he's getting back into the hang of it. Also, guess who's bad at suggesting names? THIS GUY. Thankfully, the BCE has a posh name generator that can be found here.]

Unfortunately? You don't enjoy it then, I take it.

Likely they'll understand when they step forward and unintentionally anger a Day-One.

I fail to see why it cannot be both. Court may not be the most exhilarating thing, but it's better to come to terms through more peaceful means than war.

You speak of Paris? Does your own world not have a king and queen? That ruler is the one who truly makes the decisions. I agree that strategizing amidst the small council can be detrimental, but it is still a necessary evil for however long it may take to assemble one's allies. A proper ruler would listen to his or her council, and then decide on the best course of action.

That doesn't mean inaction is inevitable. Armies still march. Plans are still made.

But you are one individual, lest you've abilities which would grant you the power to fell many immediately.

[ She thinks of her dragons. Unlikely he has such raw power at his disposal. ]

And what do you think can be done so quickly? This is entirely situational, ser. Not the sort of thing we can theorize for the sake of chatter. Inaction brings with it consequences. Assembly allows for structure. For a city in turmoil, that structure may be essential, whereas battle and bloodshed may only fuel what already is there.

I do not believe it foolish, for I've spoken the same as well. Just as I've learned that conquering is nothing the same as ruling.

Who you were prior to who you are now, you mean?

[ A Servant, is what she means, without announcing it on the network. ]

That speaks to the rulers of your lands, ser, and less about rulers in general. As with anything in life, one's temperament will dictate how he or she responds to a situation. Yours would have you take action, as would mine. My Hand's would speak to biding one's time and strategizing. The balance is essential, but it is ultimately the king or queen's decision what to do in these situations, and how well they will care for their people: smallfolk and highborn alike.

Remind me, upon our return to BASE, to tell you of my own feats and those of my intended's.
