I understand some of you are reluctant to change your names or use a different moniker when we make the drop in 1916's Gallipoli. If you're not from a standardized Earth, I suggest you reconsider. If you need assistance, I'll assign you one myself. You don't have to consider them names but codenames to be discarded after we return to BASE.

An example of this: Rider is now Kale. I told him I would notify you all of this alteration.

Think wisely about the impact small things could have on a timeline. They add up and any amount of skepticism brought about by our foolishness is too much. Thanks.

Yeah, I get it. Paranoia. But it is sort of the point of the military, you know. Try not to lone wolf too much, it might make you a pariah.

Don't want to sound overconfident– though I do assure you I have excellent aim.

If you didn't have confidence in yourself, who'd want to have confidence in you? If you say you have excellent aim, I will remember it. All I can worry over now is whether or not you're going to be aiming at the back of my head.

Depending on how things go, you might get lucky and start small. Not sure how they're going to break up the platoons though, once we get there.

Some people don't like what sounds like overconfidence. Don't give me reason to aim for you. Or rather, don't give a superior officer reason to tell me to aim for you. I'd rather not waste ammunition on a teammate.

Call it curiosity. I know there's several recruits here that can do some outlandish things– well, outlandish to someone as normal as I am.

If you're an excellent shot, I wouldn't call you normal. What sort of training do you have?

I'm certainly not superpowered or anything. My definition of normal, I guess.

US Military– I was involved for a few years with normal field operations and then specialized projects. It's been a few years since I was out but my current job makes use of the skills fairly often.

I see. Then it seems you're back on active duty, Mr Jones.

What do you do now?

It'll be an adjustment. They didn't run things exactly the same way. Also, different country.

Corporate acquisitions. Of a sort.

And you, Shou? What is it you do? Or did, I should say.

Yes, I would expect that to be true. I will have to learn as I go as well. The skeleton of the idea must be the same.

I'm a mercenary. I specialize in assassination.

I suppose it'll be better that we're all learning together. In the trenches, quite literally.

Would you say you prefer close combat, then?

Yes. I prefer it. I have used several varieties of guns, however.

After the initial period of adjustment, sounds like you'll be fine on the field.

There will be no period of adjustment, I've fought a war before this.

For what it's worth, I'm sorry you're gonna have to live through another war.
