@BURGERKING— @ALL
I understand some of you are reluctant to change your names or use a different moniker when we make the drop in 1916's Gallipoli. If you're not from a standardized Earth, I suggest you reconsider. If you need assistance, I'll assign you one myself. You don't have to consider them names but codenames to be discarded after we return to BASE.
An example of this: Rider is now Kale. I told him I would notify you all of this alteration.
Think wisely about the impact small things could have on a timeline. They add up and any amount of skepticism brought about by our foolishness is too much. Thanks.

Why is this always the case...]
So long as no one asks me specifics of anything, I suppose.
[...Then again, he'd have very few specifics to offer if he passed off as Japanese either...]

haha, don't worry, I have zero idea how I'd pass as one if anyone questioned me! We'll get through it somehow! (;´・`)>

[Ashitaka barely knows about Japanese culture from his own time, having been secluded in his own village for his entire life. He'd have absolutely nothing to say if someone asked him about his heritage either way...]
This makes me worry, considering our movements through time need to be undetectable...
[He's just the type to worry.]

It'll be okay. :)
[ though, since hearing about how Paris was considered a failed mission, ryoji guesses that this guy has reason to worry. ]
I don't think they will ask too closely, anyway.

[He doesn't recognize this username, though. They most likely didn't know what they were in for, or what they were up against.]
You are most likely correct about this, however.
We will have worse things to be concerned with.

look, I'd appreciate whatever you wanna tell me — I'm pretty new to this, and you seem like you're pretty experienced..

It will be war. It will be needless, cruel, and destructive.

but isn't the point of us going there to prevent it from becoming even worse than it would be, with whatever the bad guys are planning on doing?
i'm hoping for the best.

[The future would hold whether or not it was truthful or not.]
It is all that we can do, at this point.
This, and prepare for what might be the worst.

is this seriously what it's going to be like??

I was no fan of the food of the place where we just returned from, but what we eat here changed my mind. At least there, the food was mostly fresh.
[And resembled food. The blocks that they ate (or the illusions of food they were crafted into) seemed more like building materials than something edible.]
